One of the first vendors that couples seek when planning a wedding is the cake maker, and with good reason! Both the bride and groom are always keen on who will make their wedding cake because it’s a truly significant part of the wedding ceremony.

Catie Cakes are easily one of the best bakers we’ve had the privilege and opportunity to work with in the past. Couples always love them for their excellent services and lovely cakes. We recently had a conversation with Catie Cakes on their journey as leading confectioners in the wedding industry and here’s what they had to say. Join us as we feature them this week in our vendor spotlight series!

• Why did they center their business on wedding cakes? 

Wedding cakes are always lovely sights at the reception, and they’re still a topic of discussion even after the wedding is over. Catie Cakes understands how important cakes are to any kind of wedding, so they set out to make sure couples’ expectations are always met with their ‘sugary’ creations. They know their cakes are truly unique and taste just as unique too, and they’re positive they’re cakes can add flair to a wedding like few other things can.

• How do they convince couples about quality?

Many of their clients are referrals or guests from past weddings; a testament to how good their cakes are. These people have had a taste of Catie Cake’s different flavors and can vouch for them. Thus, Catie Cakes don’t really need to convince anyone of the taste or quality of their cakes or flavors. Even when a couple wants a specific design that matches the event décor, Catie Cakes have crafters that tend to it.

• What happens when they don’t have a couple’s flavor?

With over 30 flavors made for more than 120 weddings, they can confidently say they have most of the flavors that couples will want, if not all. If, however, they don’t have what the flavor in question, they recommend something close to what you are looking for.

• How do they handle feedback?

Feedback is extremely important to Catie Cakes. In the rare event they don’t get positive feedback, they personally reach out to the couple with handwritten notes and ask if they can deliver boxes of cakes to them. They aim to please every single couple.

• What has been their greatest ‘wedding cake moment?’

Every moment is special to them, but they love it when guests ask to take pictures with the cake because of how beautiful it is. They also love it when people ask for extra slices of cake. It offers immense gratification and contentment that their efforts to bake something uniquely wonderful was not in vain.
